Perfect Creation The all-new M series marks a milestone for Matrix Audio as it advances toward traditional Hi-Fi systems. The lineup includes the MS-1 music streamer, MP-1 preamplifier, and MA-1 power amplifier—together forming a complete flagship system that reflects Matrix Audio’s understanding of high-fidelity sound.
The M series is the first to adopt the new Matrix Design language, setting the direction for the future evolution of Matrix Audio products. Matrix Design Evaluating audio products from the dimensions of listening and looking has always been central to our philosophy.
From concept to execution, every step reflects a love for music and a pursuit of beauty. The MS-1 embodies simplicity in its industrial design.
Hundreds of circular perforations of varying sizes and depths are arranged across its hexahedral surface, creating a rhythmic visual pattern reminiscent of musical beats emerging across the chassis. Focus On Software Experience The source device is the soul of an audio system.
Hardware forms the body of the MS-1, while software shapes its character. Beyond sound quality, we emphasize usability—simplifying interaction and highlighting music information on the display.
Through the MA Remote App, you can control your entire system from your listening position. Volume adjustments, track selection, playback control, filter settings, operating modes, and display brightness are all managed seamlessly from your phone or tablet, powered by the carefully developed MA Player system.
MA Player MA Player is a streamlined Linux-based software system designed specifically for Hi-Fi playback and exclusively available on Matrix Audio products. It has evolved to deliver enhanced playback performance, expanded functionality, and a refined interactive experience tailored to high-resolution audio systems.
MA Remote App The MA Remote App serves as the core control center for Matrix Audio music streamers. Installed on iPhone, iPad, or Android devices, it allows you to browse and play local music libraries and stream high-resolution content from services such as SONY Select, TIDAL, Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, Baidu Cloud, and QQ Music, as well as online radio.
Even when streaming through Roon or other applications, track information can still be viewed through MA Remote. The app also enables full configuration of hardware settings.
PCM Resampling & DSD Conversion The built-in asynchronous upsampling and DSD conversion engine processes audio entirely within the digital domain. Asynchronous resampling and interpolation help isolate jitter and enhance detail retrieval.
The DSD conversion engine can transform playback into DSD format, increasing perceived density and refinement. Adjustable PCM and DSD conversion parameters allow for tailored sonic preferences.
IIS-LVDS Digital Output The MS-1 functions as a high-performance audio transport, outputting all playback signals—including analog and phono inputs—through its IIS-LVDS port. This enables connection to external DACs for expanded system flexibility and varied listening configurations.
Analog Input & Phono Input Two pairs of line inputs and one phono input are provided. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs integrate external analog sources, while the built-in phono stage supports both MM and MC cartridges for direct turntable connection.
All analog signals are digitized via a high-precision ADC, processed internally, and can be routed to the IIS-LVDS output. Digital Audio Input Comprehensive digital inputs—including USB, optical, coaxial, and IIS-LVDS—allow the MS-1 to operate as a high-end DAC.
Computers, CD transports, set-top boxes, and gaming consoles can connect directly, enabling high-quality digital-to-analog conversion through the MS-1’s internal architecture. Preamplifier & Dual Balanced Output The MS-1 Pre includes a built-in preamplifier with precision resistor array volume control.
The multi-stage op-amp design provides +10dB gain and up to 16VRMS output, allowing direct connection to power amplifiers or active speakers. A fixed-level XLR output is also available for simultaneous recording or monitoring applications.
Dual D/A Chip Independent Channel Design The MS-1 is Matrix Audio’s first platform built around dual AK4191 and AK4499 flagship DAC chipsets. Each operates in mono mode with independent left and right channel PCB assemblies, forming a true dual-mono design.
This configuration delivers precise signal reproduction and extended dynamic range. Precision Resistor Volume Control The integrated resistor ladder volume control uses four control units composed of 64 precision resistors with 1‰ accuracy and 32 sealed reed relays controlled by an MCU.
This voltage-divider architecture ensures consistent channel matching, minimal signal degradation, and near-silent operation during adjustment. DPLL High Precision Clock A high-performance DPLL clock synthesis circuit generates an ultra-low jitter signal, reaching as low as 45 femtoseconds.
The MS-1 also supports connection to an external 10MHz reference clock, allowing further refinement of digital timing accuracy. Expandable SFP Fiber Optic Network Port An SFP interface enables fiber optic network connectivity, isolating electrical interference from upstream network equipment.
This optical isolation enhances system purity while maintaining a standard Ethernet port for traditional network integration. NVMe SSD Slot An internal NVMe SSD slot on the underside of the chassis allows installation of high-speed solid-state storage.
This design eliminates reliance on external drives and avoids vibration or noise associated with traditional HDDs. Stored music can be managed via network sharing or transferred using the MA Remote App.
Square Copper Wire Transformer & Linear Power Two custom toroidal transformers with square copper windings separately power the digital and analog sections. Square copper conductors increase surface area and current capacity while lowering resistance, improving transient response.
MUNDORF M-Lytic AG capacitors and multiple low-noise LDO regulators ensure stable, clean power delivery throughout the system. H-Shaped Chassis Structure The H-shaped structural design is built around a 20mm CNC-machined aluminum main beam that supports the entire chassis.
Components mount directly to this core structure, creating isolated internal cavities that reduce interference between modules. Symmetrical channel layout enhances both structural integrity and visual balance.
Elegant Industrial Design & Refined Build Quality The refined industrial design reflects the Matrix Design language through precise CNC machining and carefully finished surfaces. Each component features a matte texture that conveys craftsmanship, delivering a cohesive and understated visual presence.
Pure & Clear The MS-1 delivers a balanced and natural presentation that remains faithful to the recording. Every detail of the M series reflects careful development, calibration, and refinement by the Matrix Audio team, uniting design, engineering, and craftsmanship into a coherent flagship system.
